TriPeaks is a relatively young solitaire: it was designed in 1989 by Robert Hogue, and its big break came when it shipped with Microsoft Windows in the Microsoft Entertainment Pack era, later becoming a staple of the Microsoft Solitaire Collection. Hogue's own statistical analysis found that with careful play the overwhelming majority of deals are winnable, which is part of why the game feels so much friendlier than stubborn classics like Klondike.
The design brilliance is in the three-peak tableau. Because each buried card is freed by removing the two cards covering it, every play reshapes what will become available two and three moves ahead. Strong players do not just ask “what can I play now?” but “which peak am I trying to open up?” — dismantling the board evenly rather than gutting one pyramid while the others stay sealed.

Each card you play scores points, and consecutive plays without drawing build a chain multiplier (×2, ×3 …) for far more points. Clearing all three peaks awards a big completion bonus plus rewards for leftover stock cards and your best chain. Your high score is saved as Best. Plan a route before you start clicking — playing a card too early can strand a chain. Hold your stock draws until you genuinely run out of moves, and look for cards that keep a long up-and-down run going to maximise the multiplier.
